A Brief Note From Casey's House about a July Fundraiser!
Dear Friend of Casey's House,
I don't often send email blasts out as I feel as though people prefer hearing from us via a newsletter in the mail. I did want to quickly send you information though about a July fundraising effort generously offered to us:
Please check out Amy Sikes' website! She is donating a portion of her Avon sales to Casey's House this month! Orders can be placed online and shipped to your house and orders $30 or more incur no shipping charges!
Amy does this every month for a different rescue, she truly is an animal lover and I encourage you to consider her for all your Avon needs throughout the year!
Thanks and I hope that you had a wonderful 4th!
Sincerely,
Cindy Ingram

Dear Friend of Casey’s House,
Kitten season is upon us and
already we are filled up with kittens at Casey’s House! Shortly after we took in our first mother
from Winchester we received a call about a mother in Berryville! Both mothers are merely more than kittens
themselves, about six months old. We are
hoping to find homes for the mothers along with the kittens; the mothers will
be spayed and fully vetted. If taken
with a kitten, the adoption fee for the mother will be fully waived!
After taking in two mothers
one right after the other we were going to take a breather for a few days to
get adjusted to our fast growing foster family.
However, a feral mother cat had other ideas and we hadn’t even realized
that she was pregnant! We woke up one
morning and instead of a feral cat alone in her cage waiting for the
spay/neuter transport there was a feral cat with five kittens, don’t ask me
where in her belly she was hiding those kittens as I still can’t figure it
out! We have received quite a few calls
since about mother cats and kittens and will be working with a few families to
try to find homes for everybody but we need your help! Each mother needs to be combo tested,
dewormed, shots, and spayed. Each kitten
also needs to be fully vetted and it all costs money.

Dear Friend of Casey’s House,
It has been ten years since a stubborn
cat named Casey came into my life. At
the time I already had two cats and two dogs and so when she sat on my carport
and meowed at me I told her that she needed to go home. “Home” however, was a unhappy place with some
40 other cats, green water, and filthy food bowels. It didn’t take long for me to give in and
start feeding her before I sent her “home”.
However, as is often the case with cats, Casey kept pushing for more. One day she stopped eating, briefly looked at
me, and then proceeded to quickly and determinately walk right past me and into
my house. Once inside she headed for our
kitchen table and sat right in the middle of the newspaper that my husband was
reading and meowed at us as much to say “I’m here, I’m staying, deal with it!” Since we were not really given much of a choice,
we dealt with it! I have never regretted
letting Casey into my life that day, because of her and the quandary that her
feline colony friends found themselves in a few months later when their people
abandoned them I became involved in cat rescue.
Today Casey’s House is home to many cats
that are not adoptable due to age, health, or behavioral issues. We also maintain a population of about 10
adoptable cats, most of which are kittens of outdoor ferals. We provide food, shelter, and medical care
for all our residents. Sadly, there are
always more cats needing sanctuary then we can provide for and that is why a
few years ago we started our low cost spay/neuter runs. Until we get the cat overpopulation under
control there will never be enough homes and those cats that are older, sick,
or behaviorally challenged will more likely or not have nowhere to go. For two months in a row now we have sent
almost double our previous month’s amount of cats to be spayed/neutered for a
total of 99 cats and 4 dogs! The
previous months had already averaged 25 per month so we are ready to break 300
spay/neuters this year!
With your tax-deductible gift we can
continue to provide sanctuary for many hard to adopt cats in our region and to offer
affordable spay/neuter to the many pet owners that need it! We thank you for your support and from all
the cats of Casey’s House a warm and thankful meow!
Sincerely,
Cindy Ingram

Dear Friend of Casey’s House,
In our December newsletter I
told you about Zena, a lovable tortie cat that needed an operation to remove an
eye that was causing her trouble. Thanks
to your generous support Zena has had her operation and is ready for her
forever home! Zena and all our adoptable
cats can be seen at our petfinder website.
We have been going strong in
2012, finding homes for kittens of homeless mother cats (and then finding homes
for the mothers!); spay & neutering not only cats but some dogs too (We
have spayed/neutered well over 100 cats this year and are well on our way to
doing another 100!), and providing santuary to 45 old and hard to adopt cats
(like Zena). We need your help to
continue this important work.

Face Book/Casey's House Cat Rescue
March 10, 2012
Dear Friend of Casey's House,
This year we are looking to double, even triple the number of cats spayed/neutered through our transport program and we are well on our way. Just barely into March and already 73 cats have been spayed/neutered via our transport, most of which were female. Mating season has started and we can't afford to slow down now but we need your help to continue this important service. Your tax deductible gift of any amount will help us provide the much needed service of low cost spay/neuter to the Northern Virginia area. Donations can be made online through our secure website or by mail, http://www.caseyshouse.org/donate.html provides links to our paypal online donation or a mail in form that can be printed. However you wish to support Casey's House, we thank you!
In our end of the year newsletter I told you about a blind cat named Zena who needed an operation to remove one of her eyes that was causing her discomfort. I am happy to say that she has had her operation and is doing quite well! She is now listed on our Petfinder website along with other cats in need of their forever home. Hopefully in our next newsletter I will be able to tell you that Zena has found her forever home!
Lastly and most importantly, please spread the word about our low cost spay/neuter transport! Too often I hear the words "I wish I had known about your service 5 years and 40 cats ago..." Please help us make this a better place for our feline friends by helping us stop the plight of homeless and abandoned cats in our area!
Sincerely,
Cindy Ingram
